We've added a bass player! Jamie Bishop has joined our ranks, and he's brought with him a gigantic exhale for the collective band. All you New Yorkers will be able to check out our new quartet instrumentation April 9th @ Club Groove in Greenwich Village. For everyone else, we'll be posting mp3s and videos as soon as we get 'em so stay tuned.

10,000 LAKES HERE WE COME

In other huge news, we'll be performing at the 10,000 Lakes Festival this summer. For those who are unfamiliar this is one mother-of-a-festival with acts like Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, Phil Lesh and Friends, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, The Bad Plus, The Flaming Lips, and more. Needless to say this is our biggest date yet! For more info about 10,000 Lakes go to www.10klf.com

NEW RELIX.COM ARTICLE

We are featured on Relix.com's "Meet the Jamoff Winners" this month. Go to our Press page to read an interview between Joe Hanley and Relix's Lauren Modisette.

MAJOR TOM SEMI-FINALIST @ ISC

"Major Tom" has made it to the semi-finals of the International Songwriting Competition in the instrumental category. Feb 4 they'll be announcing the finalists, and posting them on their website. Go to www.songwritingcompetition.com for details.

REDUX BACK IN RELIX MAGAZINE

Redux won the Relix Jamoff Contest this month, earning us a spot on the CD sampler in the February/March issue of Relix. Major Tom is on there, accompanied by tracks from The Black Crowes, Ween, The Drive-By Truckers and several others. It's on news stands now. Rock star status pending.

WE GOT A NEW NAME

It took 4 months of nit-picking, obsessive madness, but we've finally settled upon Redux. Defined as "a new interpretation of", it represents the next chapter in our music. We will of course still be playing songs off Under The Microscope, but a whole a batch of new ones are steadily emerging. So if you ocassionally see "Ripplegroove" on this site DON'T BE CONFUSED. We are now REDUX.

NEW MP3 DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE

We've updated our Downloads page with a new mp3. It was taken from our live show at the Knitting Factory on 8/3/07. The track is Dana's Lick, and it's one of the first recordings of us with our new drummer RJ. Check it out.

OUR NEW DRUMMER HAS ARRIVED

We'd like to welcome RJ Rabin to the drum throne as our new skin slappin', beat rippin' head hitter! We're lovin' his sound and gellin' like nobody's business. He's a welcome new arrival to the team. Check out this latest video clip from The Knitting Factory on June 9, 2007 to check out the personnel.

NEW CD ARTWORK

After we ran out of our first run of Under The Microscopes, we of course had to make more. But we revamped the artwork with the help of an additional artist and an additional photographer. Abby Getman lent a daft artistic touch to the graphics, and Fred Jourdain sent us some outstanding photos from our show in Quebec City. Fred is a phenomonal artist and photographer so please go check out his site at www.fredjourdain.com. You can see a handful of pictures from the Quebec show on the band page.

JAMBASE AND RELIX

We're in the press! That's right. Both Jambase and Relix have shown a little love for us. Go to Jambase.com and check it out. A very articulate (and former-fellow San Diegan) Josh Klemons gave UTM a great review and we're happy to receive it. And, in the October/November issue of Relix we're featured in the Listen Up section, courtesy of Sonicbids. So that's it. We're world famous rock stars. Or, national...famous rock stars. Or, no....national kinda-famous jazz-rock stars. Uuuuh, national, lightly-buzzing, jazz/jam/rock up-and-comers? Whatever.
